Tinsley Ellis’s fourteenth album released through Alligator Records. After four albums issued with The Heartfixers, Ellis recorded his first solo effort in 1992, "Trouble Time", launching an influential, singular career that stands among the most decisive in blues over the three decades that followed. Tinsley Ellis’s guitar playing cannot be compared to anyone else of his generation: electric power in service of boldly unapologetic songs, filled with creative intelligence and interpretive ferocity. His albums trace, alongside the passage of time, the enduring modernity of a guitarist who is both a consummate player and a forward-thinking composer, always placing the right emphasis on the context in which he writes his songs. Ellis is now a classic by definition; the blues has added another chapter to its biography, and the journeys along his guitar neck already resonate in the epic tradition of the greats. In 2024, he released his first acoustic project, and on "Labor of Love" he continues exploring the influences of country blues. Simply brilliant.
