A restless artist. A committed musician. From Valencia (Spain), Raúl Rabadán offers us a catalog of styles in which blues as an unappealable source allows itself to be seduced by swing rhythms and contours modeled by boogie, soul and jazz, while hot R&B nuances chords and seductive harmonies. As T-Bonsky has just released his first album "Malassa's Jump", it's currently only available in digital format, but his career began a few years ago. His music directly challenges the classic Chicago blues of Howlin'Wolf and Willie Dixon, from the west-coast jump blues to the swing of the fifties, while his guitar evokes moments when T-Bone Walker is present. His prolific musical activity has been evident with projects in which he has alternated all those influences, leading bands such as Three Cool Cats, Big Hollers and Nasty Boogie, along with his inseparable harmonica player Daniel Tena and singer Marian Zorio, alongside her as duo in the bands Marlow, Dixie Jungle and Mari-Ann & The Chaser. As a chronicle of the Valencian blues scene, his musical relationship with the excellent Valencian harmonica player Danny Boy is a reference to the good health of blues music in Spain. In this solo album debut, Rabadán plays all the instruments and carries out all the production and mixing work, which raises the level of this musician to a level of remarkable singularity, a balanced and compact studio work, with the guitar as the main focus of attention supported by minimal arrangements and a persuasive and effective instrumental exquisiteness. This album shows a blues musician emancipated from clixes, naked in each song he performs, sincere and accommodating. An excellent anthology in hands faithful to American roots music.
