And in the 21st century, Southern Avenue. Israeli guitarist Ori Naftaly and sisters Tierinii and Tikyra Jackson formed the band in 2015. After representing Memphis in the 2016 International Blues Challenge (IBC), they signed with Stax (becoming the first band to sign with the label in forty years), now a subsidiary of Concord Records. In 2017, they released their self-titled debut album, "Southern Avenue". The album had an immediate impact, and the band quickly gained atraction among fans and the media. Their consolidation came with "Keep On", their second and final album for Stax, released in 2019. Two years later, they released a third album, "Be The Love You Want", while it was a transition work, it laid down a strong and bold foundation that prepared audiences for what was to come. And it has arrived with "Family", released through their new label Alligator Records. New horizons, flawless production, and the definitive explosion of contemporary soul.
