Every Life Matters

Fabrizio Poggi (Voghera, Italy, 1958) is not only recognized by European blues fans as one of the most iconic harmonica player, but also enjoys well-deserved recognition in the United States, where he began his first tours in the late '90s. Along with other European virtuosos of the instrument, just to name a few—Paul Lamb (UK), Nico Toussaint and Jacques Milteau (France), Mingo Balaguer (Spain), Konstantin Kolesnichenko (Ukraine), Helge Tallqvist (Finland), or Tomislav Goluban (Croatia), Poggi has been an essential musician in the evolution toward parity with American artists, as well as in the consolidation of blues in Europe as a breeding ground for internationally diverse experiences. His personal and professional relationship with Guy Davis has been captured in two albums, "Sonny & Brownie's Last Train" (MC Records, 2017) and "Juba Dance" (Dixiefrog, 2013), both nominated for BMA awards, and with Ronnie Earl, Bob Margolin, and Sonny Landreth in the album "Spaghetti Juke Joint" (2014), the first with the Italian label Appalossa Records. In his more than thirty years of musical career, with his band Chicken Mambo, solo, or in multiple collaborations, Poggi has recorded twenty-six albums and shared recording studios and stages with artists such as Steve Cropper, Charlie Musselwhite, Eric Bibb, Flaco Jimenez, Marcia Ball, Garth Hudson, Mike Zito, Ruthie Foster, Caroline Wonderland, and The Blind Boys of Alabama, among many others. This has allowed him to showcase his ability to adapt to diverse styles and registers, as well as solidify his legitimacy as a blues harmonica player among the greats.
As in his previous album "Basement Blues" (Appalossa Records, 2022), in "Healing Blues," Fabrizio Poggi has enriched the album with unreleased new versions with singer Shar White, outtakes from the albums "Spaghetti Juke Joint" (2014) and "The Breath of Freedom" (2015), as well as live recordings with Guy Davis.
Fabrizio Poggi's music is a hymn to enthusiasm and passion for the blues; it's the emotion of a musician searching deep within his soul for the most intimate expression of pleasure and loyalty, it's pure artistic sincerity.

EVERY LIFE MATTERS

(F. POGGI – E. PESCE)

I KNOW IT’S HARD
BUT PLEASE DON’T GIVE UP
WE SHALL OVERCOME
I BELIEVE IN HIS DREAM

AND SO JUST REMEMBER
JUST REMEMBER DR. KING
YOU CAN KILL THE DREAMER
BUT YOU CAN’T KILL HIS DREAM

SO SING ALONG
EV’RY LIFE MATTERS, EV’RY LIFE
EV’RY LIFE MATTERS, EV’RY LIFE
EV’RY LIFE MATTERS, EV’RY LIFE
EV’RY LIFE MATTERS, EV’RY LIFE

I KNOW YOU’RE TIRED
BUT PLEASE DON’T GIVE UP
EV’RY SONG MATTERS
I BELIEVE MUSIC CAN HEAL

YOU CAN JAIL THE SINGER
BUT YOU CAN’T JAIL HIS SONG
CAUSE EV’RY SONG MATTERS
EV’RY SONG, EV’RY LIFE

EV’RY LIFE MATTERS, EV’RY LIFE
EV’RY LIFE MATTERS, EV’RY LIFE
EV’RY LIFE MATTERS, EV’RY LIFE
EV’RY LIFE MATTERS, EV’RY LIFE
