Discovering the singer Nikki Jones is like returning to the roots of black music. There's no need to evoke the great voices of the blues; Jones doesn’t rival any of them, she is original, strong, and delicate at the same time. Born in Beavercreek, Oregon, she started as a singer in rock bands like Riven, with whom she performed all over the state. In 2017, along with guitarists Brandon Logan and Bruce Mackay, they formed the current Nikki Jones Band, performing at the Waterfront Portland Blues Festival in 2019 for the Journey To Memphis competition. Nikki had become a blues singer, leading one of the most exciting bands in Oregon, and in 2023, they released their first album "Battle Me Up," which was reissued in 2025. At 29 , Nikki Jones is one of the most passionate and vibrant singers to emerge in recent years, with a voice that excels in any register, backed by professional musicians and songs that are incisive and full of nuances waiting to be discovered. One can expect her band's progression, a new album that will solidify her presence, and an increasing role in the blues circuit to confirm her as an artist.
