David "Kid" Ramos, a Californian born in 1959, is one of the guitarists who, along with other legends like Hollywood Fats, Junior Watson, Little Charlie Baty, Rusty Zinn or Duke Robillard, modernized West Coast blues starting in the 1980s. Ramos became a professional in 1980 when he joined the James Harman Band, another pioneer of harmonica on the West Coast, with whom he spent eight years and recorded the band's first three albums. After a brief stint with the The Roomful of Blues, Kid took a temporary break from music, and his return led to the recording of an album with harmonica player Lynwood Slim in the short-lived The Rhythm Combo. In 1994, he released his first solo album, "Two Hands One Heart", and shortly after, Kim Wilson called him to be the new guitarist for The Fabulous Thunderbirds. Between 2000 and 2018, Ramos recorded four more solo albums and joined Los Fabulocos, a band with whom he released two more albums. He also contributed his guitar to the two albums by the band The 44's. David Ramos hides energy and passion in his guitar, showcasing his addiction to that unique playing style that jump blues musicians possess, and his personality is present like no other in the recordings which document a long list of irreplaceable bluesmen.

"I always just tried to do the best job I could do. I don’t try and think too highly of myself and I try and give all the glory to God. It’s those three things I think about every time I play. If people still want to hear me play, I’ll be out there. I’ll be playing somewhere." KR.
