Ronnie Baker Brooks was born in Chicago in 1967, the eldest son of legendary guitarist Lonnie Brooks and brother of guitarist Wayne Brooks, born in 1970, a family that has formed one of the most incisive sagas in Chicago blues in recent decades. As a child he began joining his father on stage and since 1986 he was a regular member of his band. In 1998 Ronnie embarked on his solo career, founding his own label, Watchdog Records, and releasing his first three albums over the next eight years. In 2017 he signed with Provogue and released his fourth album "Times Have Changed", his best collection of songs until then and for which he was nominated for the BMA in the category of Contemporary Blues Album. Ronnie belongs to a long generation of blues guitarists who, along with Bernard Allison (son of the legendary Luther Allison), Tab Benoit, Toronzo Cannon, Albert Castiglia, Eric Gales, JP Soars, Slam Allen or Mike Zito to name just a few, have kept the penultimate relay of exciting guitarists for the last three decades. Ronnie Baker Brooks has remained faithful to the Chicago Blues that identified his father (who was originally from Louisiana), at the same time that he opened the door to the modernization of its sound and took over with imagination and all respect for its origins. If with the album "Time Have Changed" he made clear what his intentions were, with this latest work released through Alliagtor Records - the label that released most of Lonnie Brooks' albums (eleven releases between 1978 and 1999) - he has recorded the twelve best songs of his career, essential guitars, infinite maturity in singing and timeless compositions. Five albums into Ronnie's career isn't enough, but they're packed with credibility and strength.
