Joanna Knitter teaches at the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk, where she gives classes in jazz vocals, jazz improvisation, and song interpretation, specializing in Jazz and Stage Music. She has recorded four albums in the swing series "Take It Easy" with Polish jazz saxophonist Przemek Dyakowski, performing as part of his live lineup. She has recorded and performed in major theaters with conductor Przemek Dyakowski, founder of the Polish Chamber Philharmonic in Sopot. With Leszek Kułakowski, a visionary of jazz fused with Third Stream Art Music -a collision between jazz and classical music - she recorded the monumental album "Love Songs." She is also deeply devoted to the blues. Joanna possesses an enigmatic voice; each note she sings must be unraveled to fully savor its indescribable power and contrast. With her band Blues & Folk Connection, she leads a superb quintet where music transcends any labe, it's a whirlwind of immediate attraction. "Distant Blues" is the fourth album released since the band's formation in 2011 and follows the 2020 album "Aretha", a tribute to the Queen of Soul, featuring elevated and outstanding covers. Joanna Knitter is one of those women who dedicate their art to the listener’s enjoyment, yet remain hidden on the flip side of the music industry. Joanna Knitter is a definitive artist.
