CM DISCOGRAPHY

There’s little or nothing left to add about Charlie’s musical legacy. Sixty years making music says it all. Alongside Paul Butterfield, he helped make it possible for white audiences to revitalize a music that had, until then, been performed and consumed primarily by African Americans. Bob Dylan transformed folk music into rock ’n’ roll at the same time Musselwhite and Butterfield opened the doors of blues to the mainstream pop world. Charlie has been unstoppable, a quiet rebel, a pivotal artist for over half a century. More than thirty recordings, countless others as a sideman, thousands of performances across five continent, respected and loved by all, Charlie is a truly endearing man. Everything has already been written about him. Fans and the media have praised his albums and concerts, and endless opinions have been shared about his legacy and masterful harmonica playing. But now, faced with this 81-year-old musician, the best thing to do is sit back and quietly listen to his latest recording. "Look Out Highway" brings back his old road mates, Matthew Stubb, June Core and Randy Bermudes returning alongside the old Charlie.bThe blues has its privileges.
