Occitanie is a historic region located in the southwest of France, bordering Catalonia (Spain) to the south. It encompasses territories where the Occitan language is spoken and is home to a distinct culture, different from the countries that surround it. From the city of Perpignan, Blues2Men - Christophe Vialle-Moudat and Richie Faret - are a duo of refined musicians who, alongside leading the band Les Maudits Waters, came together in 2018 as a duo to challenge audiences with their own experimental approach to composing and performing blues music. Far from the boundaries of traditional country blues and the orthodoxy often demanded by modern electric blues, Blues2Men extract the essence of both styles and transform themselves into bold explorers of piercing sounds and melodies that defy the limits imposed by the borders of purity. In 2023, they released their debut album, "Ton Of Gas", a raw and unapologetic work. Their blues emerges from a kind of electric instrumental alchemy, evoking the spirits of Son House and Hound Dog Taylor, stirred together randomly with sonically mystical results. Blues2Men sound perfectly in synchrony , the two musicians weave through each song, each fully responsible for every phrase, with each note marked by precision and clarity. Their second and most recent album, "Hellelujah", continues to focus on unconventional songs, crafted by sharp minds unafraid of eclectic risk. These tracks are performed with an eye on the present, boldly rejecting revivalism, and a look fixed on a future yet to be written, but they play loudly enough to awaken it.
