Matthew Stubbs, former guitarist in Charlie Musselwhite’s blues band, has shown a remarkable sense of musical insight, open-mindedness, and great intelligence in performing blues music. In 2018, he founded the band GA-20 in Boston, opening a window to new perceptions. A band of fierce and uncompromising guitars, their sound pushes beyond traditional boundaries. Through that window have come fresh new breezes, along with rebellious intuitions of nonconformity and modern renewal. It's not old rock 'n' roll, nor is it something entirely new, it simply draws from the music of Chuck Berry and Muddy Waters, which has become timeless.
