ODIE PAYNE JR. (1926-1989) - Along with Fred Below, was the best Chicago blues drummer of all time. Played with Chicago legends such as  Tampa Red, Elmore James, Magic Sam, Sonny Boy Williamson II,  Otis Rush, Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters, Carey Bell, Hubbert Sumlin, Eddie Taylor and Buddy Guy among many others.

Dedicated to music in all of its forms, styles, and genre, OPJ records originated in 1943 in Chicago, IL. Although dormant for many years it represented the true legacy and aspirations of its originator, Odie Payne Jr. 

OPJ signature in-studio recording. Which includes excerps of his famous drum solos, 5 original tracks and great piano work supported by the great Sunnyland Slim.OPJ  Records was produced by his son Odie III.  Arrangers of the music were OPJ himself also known as the "The Official Legendary Time Keeper" and his son Odie Payne III.
