Active, prolific, a true guitar hero, and a blues innovator, Mike Zito (St. Louis, Missouri, 1970) has built a highly influential professional career on the blues-rock scene over the past 25 years. His album "Today" (2008), the first of three releases with Eclecto Groove Records, marked the beginning of his rise to prominence. With The Wheel, he released "Gone to Texas" (2013), the first of seven albums through Ruf Records, a partnership that propelled him to the very top of the blues-rock scene. In 2020, Zito founded his own label, Gulf Coast Records, through which he has released all of his work ever since, including the albums from the Blood Brothers project alongside his longtime friend Albert Castiglia. Together with Cyril Neville and Devon Allman, he also released four compelling albums as Royal Southern Brotherhood via Ruf Records. We can expect Mike Zito’s journey to continue for many years to come. His music will remain a benchmark for blues in its most popular and widely embraced form among fans.
