LITTLE FEAT WERE ONE OF THE MOST INTELLIGENT BANDS TO EMERGE IN THE SEVENTIES, CREATED AND LEADED BY LOWELL GEORGE, THE MOST INTELLIGENT GUITARIST IN THE HISTORY OF POP MUSIC. THE LANGUAGE USED BY THIS ARTIST WAS ABLE TO TRANSLATE, WITH A OWN AND HIGHLY ECLECTIC STYLE, THE VARIOUS MUSICAL GENRES THAT DEFINED THE MUSIC OF THOSE YEARS, FROM BLUES, SOUL, FUNK, FOLK, JAZZ AND THE AMERICAN BLUES-ROCK THAT EMERGED WITH BANDS SUCH AS THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND OR LYNYRD SKYNYRD. AFTER SPENDING 1968 IN FRANK ZAPPA'S MOTHERS, LOWELL GEORGE ECLIPSED ANY OTHER INITIATIVE THAT EMERGED TO FORM BLUES-ROCK BANDS IN THE EARLY SEVENTIES, CREATING LITTLE FEAT WITH KEYBOARDIST BILL PAYNE, WHOM WAS JOINED AFTER THE FIRST TWO ALBUMS GUITARIST PAUL BARRERE, BEING THE CLASSIC LINE-UP OF THE GROUP AND WHO RELEASED A THIRD ALBUM "DIXIE CHICKEN", ONE OF THE MOST SPLENDOROUS ALBUMS OF THE DECADE. ALSO THE DOUBLE LIVE ALBUM RELEASED IN 1978 "WAITING FOR COLUMBUS" IS PRESENT IN ALL THE LISTS OF THE BEST LIVE ALBUMS OF POP MUSIC EVER. LOWELL GEORGE HAD RELEASED "THANKS I'LL EAT IT HERE" IN MARCH 1979, HIS FIRST SOLO ALBUM, AND DURING THE PROMOTION TOUR SUDDENLY HAD A HEART ATTACK. LITTLE FEAT DISBANDED AFTER HIS DEATH AND IN 1986 BARRERE AND PAYNE GOT THE BAND BACK, BUT THAT IT WAS ANOTHER STORY.
