JB RECORDS 2025

RELEASE DATE : APRIL 15, 2025

PREVIOUS ALBUM

Fresh and ambitious blues music from Horsens, Denmark.
In 2015, singer and guitarist Jesper Bjarnesen, bassist Jais K. Eriksen, and drummer Oscar Eriksen were hired to play Saturday nights at a well-known restaurant in the city. They called themselves Det Hyggelige Bluesband. Success caught them by surprise, but more gigs at local clubs followed, strengthening the band. By 2018, they were already performing at the Gothenburg Blues Festival. Saxophonist Hanse Jensen and keyboardist Kim Nedergård later joined the lineup, and the band officially changed its name to JB & The Huggeli. In 2020, they recorded their first album, the exquisite "Thank You Blues", whose single featured a contribution from Texas guitarist Alan Haynes. JB & The Huggeli is made up of musicians with experience in the Danish music scene, all of them rooted in jazz and blues, but also in pop and rock. This diverse background gives them a rich, nuanced sound that blends classic Chicago and Texas blues with a more intuitive, less conventional blues-rock approach. Their second album, "The Blues Supadupa", combines both styles with ambition and determination. They sound powerful on every track and manage to hook the listener from the very first note. Hopefully, this band will continue to grow and deliver new musical experiences in the future.
