From France, bass player, guitarist, singer, and songwriter Hervé Loison, aka Jake Calypso, born in 1964, has fulfilled his musical spirit between Memphis, Nashville and the lands of Mississippi. He has sold his soul to rock ’n’ roll and rockabilly, and has found the essence in blues music. Cult musician in his home country, Jake, godfather of rockabilly and a rock ’n’ roll addict, turns to the blues to reconnect with his roots. As Lonely Jake, he got lost on the roads of Mississippi in 2016 with his guitar and harmonica, and from that experience he released the album “Blues Never Lies.” That same year, together with Archie Lee Hooker (nephew of John Lee Hooker), he released the album “Vance, Mississippi…” In 2022, he paid tribute to Memphis blues and recorded the album “The Memphis Blues Cream” at Sun Studios. With this newly released “49 Highway Blues,” Jake returns to the primordial blues, recorded entirely live and inspired by Robert Johnson close presence.
