Born in 1994, Ina Forsman began her professional career in Helsinki a little over a decade ago. With a remarkable voice, she caught the attention of Finnish blues legend, harmonica player Helge Tallqvist. She joined his band as a singer and released her first album in 2013. The following year, she represented her country at the European Blues Challenge, which paved the way for her first record deal with Germany’s RUF Records in 2016. She joined the Blues Caravan Tour twice and released her self-titled debut solo album, recorded in Austin with guitarists Laura Chavez and Derek O’Brien, bassist Russell Jackson, drummer Tommy Taylor, and produced by Mark "Kaz" Kazanoff. In 2022, Forsman signed with the also German Jazzhaus Records to release her fourth album, the magnificent "All There Is", which brought together twenty-three musicians in the studio. Following a double live album released in 2024, Ina has just released "After Dark Hour", her most ambitious work to date, a defining piece of contemporary soul and a must-hear in modern soul music. Aretha Franklin and Sam Cooke, her longtime musical icons, remain her greatest inspirations, but she has now carved out a new future for soul music—one open to fresh and bold experiences.
