After forming several bands such as Smokin' Chillums and Mo' Rice, in 2008 he founded The Mighty Gators and released his first album under the nickname Lightnin' Guy, followed by six more releases. As a solo artist, now simply as Guy Verlinde, he released "Better Days Ahead" in 2015, marking the beginning of his consolidation as a European blues artist and the start of a solid career across the continent, which led him to represent his country at the European Blues Challenge (EBC) in its 2012 edition. Verlinde is a complete artist: a restless and versatile songwriter, an uninhibited slide guitarist, and a powerful singer. He is one of the most established acts not only in Belgium but also a recognized figure on the European circuit.
