Guitarist and songwriter Carmen Ratti formed the band in 2018 after recruiting some of California’s finest musicians to give the project unquestionable musical depth and credibility. The idea was to create a solid foundation and share with audiences the wealth of experience he had accumulated over many years performing alongside artists such as Johnny Burgin, Lynwood Slim, Lara Price, and Jonn Del Toro Richardson, among others. With the blues as its common denominator, Ratti channels the spirit of soul, R&B, funk, and rock ’n’ roll to forge a distinctive musical DNA and a deeply personal style. A consummate guitarist with a refined and elegant touch, he views music as a living expression in constant evolution. His songs reflect the sincerity behind why he plays, revisiting personal experiences while conveying honesty, authenticity, and unwavering integrity. The band’s powerful musical identity is further strengthened by the fiery vocalist and ambitious songwriter Jill Dineen, who joined the group in 2019. After years of drawing inspiration from legendary soul artists such as Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone, and Otis Redding, Dineen brought her formidable talent to the project, having previously fronted the Chicago blues-rock band Nora Blue and led her own ensemble, the Jill Dineen Band. Together with their previously released album, "The Road Back", this new production from Kid Andersen’s Greaseland Studios represents another outstanding collection of songs that revitalizes the blues through the inspiration, vision, and creativity of Carmen Ratti and his band. Deeply connected to their times and committed to their craft, they continue to deliver irresistible doses of energy, passion, and musical magic to discerning blues fans everywhere.
