In 1971, a nightclub and concert venue called The Blind Pig opened in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Six years later, blues lovers Jerry Del Giudice - club founder - and Edward Chmelewski in the basement of the same building, founded the label Blind Pig Records, which with over time and their vision to produce seminal albums, built a catalog that confirmed the label among the most effervescent and influential of contemporary blues. After moving and settling in Chicago and later San Francisco, in 2005 the Blind Pig Records catalog was purchased by The Orchard as a division of Sony Music, which caused, except for some limited releases, the virtual disappearance of Blid Pig Records from blues music market. Now after almost twenty years Blind Pig Records has announced its return to the front line, renewed and with music industry veteran and expert Jeff Schroedl at the helm, blues music has a new window open through which new blood and without a doubt rays of light to illuminate the good health of the genre. All blues fans on the planet are in luck. Long road Blind Pig Records !
