Anthony Sherrod, aka "Big A", is a true bluesman.
Born in 1984 in Clarksdale, the heart of the Mississippi Delta and the cradle of the blues, he comes from a place where music as good as the old days is playing once again. The sound of the last legends such as Big Jack Johnson and James "Super Chikan" Johnson still echoes through the city, and Big A has taken up the torch. Blues from the cradle. In addition to guitar, Big A plays bass, drums, and keyboards. He has been performing live since the age of ten and was a member of JB and The Midnighters, the band of guitarist Johnnie Billington. In 2016, he released his first album with The Cornlickers. Alongside his musical career, he began teaching and promoting blues history in the city and surrounding area through the Delta Blues Museum. You can catch Big A playing at Ground Zero or Red's any day of the week. Listening to him live is a soul-refreshing experience, Delta blues is more alive than ever thanks to young bluesmen like Anthony.
Rising star guitarist Christone "Kingfish" Ingram, also born in Clarksdale, continues to expand the horizons.
