From Cincinnati (OH) the guitarist, singer and songwriter Nathan Singer maintains a gravitational relationship with the music industry. An outsider fascinated by the blues and its darker side, swinging the rock&roll of Screamin' Jay Hawkins and hiding behind some superb and threatening songs. The cult of devilish music and drink linked him to another menacing musician, bassist Brother James, together they formed The Whiskey Shambles. They were soon joined by singer Layanta Foster and then completed the lineup with drummer Aaron Tyree. After a couple of EP's, in 2014 they recorded a first album "Loose Change for a Broken Man", a diabolical experiment where the blues is caressed by agonizing melodies and obscure visions. Nathan Singer's first solo foray took place with the album "On Through the Night" (2012), a preview of his intentions that have been reflected in this album with Layanta Foster and under the name of The Whiskey Shambles Duo, guitar and some percussion just to elevate some serene and forceful songs in which the blues continues to be the only reason for these musicians to pollute with great mastery and originality that dark side that is sometimes insinuating and also intriguing. Take it easy and passionately and you will find very good reasons to listen to it more than once.
