A voice that seems to come out of Alan Lomax's tape recorder in the thirties while exploring through the deep south. A guitar stunned by the dust of the road slipping slide chords, a lazy harmonica accompanying each phrasing and drumbeats putting the beat imperturbably. It's the Reverend Richard John blues. His songs are the stories of the country bluesman, in his moments of fun and in his paleness with the arrival of sunset. It's the blues of the aimless traveler, of the corner player, of which the man who drains the last drop from the glass before looking for another direction to go. Richard John was born in London in 1949 with the music in his soul, his wandering for years playing in unsuspected places, his intrinsic discord with reality led him to discover that Andalusia, in the south of Spain, could find a good place to move forward. He finally settled in the sunny and welcoming land of Andalusia and continued to play the blues on a recurring way. Richard John has toured countless clubs and obscured places in the country, has participated in major festivals of the genre and has now recorded this album that allows us to get to know his proposal in depth. Only with the sound of his guitars and his unsubdued voice, Richard John allows us to travel to the origins of blues music with the commendable strength and depth of the deep south.
