Led by guitarist, singer and songwriter Kai-Sverre Fjellberg, the Norwegian band The Blues Express was formed with the core of the blues band Geir Bertheussen Blues Express led by harmonica player Geir Bertheussen. After three albums released, the band disbanded and Fjellberg himself on guitar, bassist Trond Hansen and drummer Kåre Amundsen were joined by a new harmonica player and singer, Ronald Ottesen, and after the latest addition, keyboardist Øystein Undem, they began, as The Blues Express, to roll with their powerful blues throughout all corners of Norway.  The good harmony in the group and the exciting acceptance by fans, in 2019 they presented their candidacy to represent Norway at the EBU awards held in the Azores islands, reaching second place. That same year they were presented with the opportunity to jump across the Atlantic and perform at the legendary Antone's club in Austin. From that performance The Blues Express selected ten cuts and included them in their first album "The Blues Express LIve At Antone's" released at the end of 2019. During the last four years, the band has achieved wide recognition in Norway and has been claimed by notable European blues festivals achieving great notoriety and stage empathy among fans. There is no doubt that blues music in Scandinavian countries continues to be an inexhaustible source of artists and bands that do not leave empty spaces for inactivity and are a reflection of the excellent atmosphere that Europe breathes in blues in all its acceptances and styles.
