From southern California, Sárah Rogo is one of those essential musicians without whom music would be a prisoner of its own limitations. The first listen of "Sunfall" took me to the endless and lonely roads that Ry Cooder described in Paris-Texas, back in 1985, but later I recognized in her voice and her guitars a composer full of wonderful lyrics to write and subtle chords to play. Her music is intimate, persuasive, uplifting and terrifyingly personal. With only her guitars and some suggestive string arrangements, Rogo has composed a delicious album, some songs that awaken the listener, between the warmth of the whisper and the strength of the emotion, the sensation of being in front of a soulful and suggestive artist, a especially graceful guitarist, and listening to an album in which blues music takes a step forward without shyness or modesty, just with a little sweetness.
