EASY EYE SOUND COMPILATION
Robert Finley : "Tell Everybody"
2023

When in 2015 the Music Maker Relief Foundation discovered Robert Finley (1954, Bernice, Louisiana) at a gig in Arkansas, the future of this bluesman definitely became clear. By then, Finley had already lost his sight and was leaving behind a life in which music had only been his devotion, but he had not been able to separate him from his profession as a carpenter. Enlisted in the army and stationed in Germany, he had toured Europe with a band, until his return to Louisiana where he formed a gospel group, Brother Finley and the Gospel Sisters, without any repercussions, until the people of the non-profit Music Maker enrolled him in one of their tours, returning him to the music. In 2016, the Big Legal Mess label released his first album, "Age Do n't Mean a Thing" backed by the Bo-Keys, which achieved stimulating acceptance from fans and media, placing the bluesman back in popularity and recognition. From there, Robert Finley was able to become a professional musician and his prestige has increased with each album and performances on the national and international blues circuit. After meeting Dan Auerbach, guitarist and producer of the band The Black Keys, Finley recorded his second album, "Goin' Platinum!" in 2017 under Auerbach's production for his Easy Eye Sound label while joined one of the label's promotional tours. "Sharecropper's Son" was his third album released in 2021, where it's summarized the best of this bluesman, top-level southern soul, deep-rooted Louisiana blues, and a musician discovered by the majority of fans, already in his late stage, but chosen as one of the revitalizers of southern soul-blues music always in need of musicians like Finley. This fourth album with Dan Auerbach and Easy Eye Sounds is definitive in his career, it responds to the greatness of a musician like Robert Finley and leaves a reflection of brilliance and splendor that is undoubtedly hopeful.
"What Goes Around (Comes Around)"
Lyrics
Wait a minute, let me tell you something
You might think it ain’t nothin’
But I’m livin’ my life the best I can
And it’s not my problem
That you don’t understand
I don’t feel no pain
And I don’t feel no shame
I got my whiskey and my woman
And I ain’t worried ’bout a thing
What goes around (Goes around)
Comes around (Comes around)
And what goes up, must come down
What goes around, comes around
When you wake up in the mornin’
You can be free or in jail
And if you don’t make it thru the night
You’ll be in heaven or hell
Time to be real with everybody
And just tell the truth (Just tell the truth)
No matter what you’re doing
You go out and get it now for everything you do
I don’t feel no pain
And I don’t feel no shame
I got my whiskey and my woman
And I ain’t worried about a thing
What goes around (Goes around)
Comes around (Comes around)
And what goes up, must come down
What goes around, comes around
What goes around (Goes around)
Comes around (Comes around)....
