Guitarist Charlie Baty and harp player Rick Estrin crossed paths and in 1976 they founded the jump band "Little Charlie and the Nightcats" and with them the West Coast blues of the end of the last century exploded. They recorded nine essential albums through Alligator Records but in 2007 Baty retired from the band and from full-time touring. Guitarist Christoffer "Kid" Andersen joined the band and Estrin took the lead, announcing himself as "Rick Estrin and the Nightcats". As one of the best, most energetic and solid contemporary harmonica players, Estrin has continued to carry the music and spirit of the Nightcats forward with performances around the world, continuing with recordings through Alligator Records, releasing six more albums since 2008. "Kid" Andersen has remained a multi-instrumentalist in the band from the beginning, having been a fundamental musician in the evolution of the Nightcats' sound, the irreplaceable support of the tireless Rick Estrin. "The "Hits Keep Coming" is the sixth album to date and is a superb contribution to increasing the legend of this band, twelve torpedoes to the waterline of apathy and indifference with which blues music is often unfairly treated. An album absolutely inconceivable if it weren't for the fact that it has been recorded by completely magical musicians.
