Shawn Pittman was born in Oklahoma in 1974 and moved to Dallas, Texas, in 1992, where he connected with musicians such as Sam Myers, Anson Funderburgh, Mike Morgan, Jim Suhler, Tutu Jones, and the more progressive circles of Texas blues during those years. His first album, "Burnin' Up", was released in 1998, and shortly after, he went on tour with Susan Tedeschi's band. He then recorded a third album, Full Circle (2001), supported by Chris Layton and Tommy Shannon. Since then, Pittman began his successful tours in Europe, releasing several albums through the Italian label Feeling Good Records, including "Movin' and Groovin' "(2009), "Too Hot" (2010), and "Triple Troubles" (2010). In 2021, Shawn Pittman experimented with an acoustic solo album, "Stompin' Solo", and after the pandemic, he joined Anson Funderburgh and Mike Morgan in the Texas Blues Guitar Summit project, with which they continue to tour across the United States and Europe.
Shawn Pittman is an exceptional guitarist, an artist who demonstrates his ability to captivate any audience on stage, a staunch traditionalist of the Texas blues style. He is one of the great survivors of everlasting roots.
