"Freight Train (Let Me Ride) "

Tommy Castro, the rockin' blues in its purest essence. Born in San Jose (CA) in 1955, Castro, with forty years of musical career, relentless touring, and twenty albums released, is at the forefront of a generation of blues musicians who have been crucial in keeping the genre afloat over the last three decades. His style blends soul, blues, and funk with an elegant craftsmanship and total authenticity. A child of rock 'n' roll, an advanced disciple of southern soul, and a devoted guitarist of electric blues, he draws from every possible source of Chicago blues and the West Coast sound. He started in the '70s in Bay Area bands and quickly developed his own unique and defined style. In the '80s, he joined The Dynatones, a band formed as a backup for Charlie Musselwhite, played alongside many West Coast musicians, including Johnny Nitro and Johnny Ace, and in 1992, he founded his own band. Tommy Castro possesses the necessary authenticity and all the raw emotions throughout his entire musical work, with songs built from the sincerity of a deeply committed musician who is profoundly in love with his music. His album "Guilty of Love" (2001) featured the last recording session for John Lee Hooker. He has been awarded nine times at the Blues Music Awards in categories such as BB King Entertainer, Band of the Year, and Album of the Year (2022), BB King Entertainer, Contemporary Blues Male Artist, Contemporary Blues Album, Band of the Year (2010), and BB King Entertainer, Contemporary Blues Album (2008).
