The Finnish Wentus Blues Band, established in 1986, are the European musicians with the most prominent backpack, packed with the best essences that have earned them recognition as one of the pioneering blues bands in their style on the continent. With nearly forty years on the road, they started as a backing band, supporting musicians like Eddie Kirkland, Louisiana Red, Lazy Lester, Kim Wilson or Mick Taylor. Since 2014, as a solo band, they have built a solid reputation, performing in more than twenty countries and releasing twenty albums. "Woodstock" (2011) was recorded at Levon Helm’s Studios, "Phil Guy The Last Of The Big Time Spenders" was recorded with Chicago bluesman Phil Guy, "Too Much Mustard!" (2019) featured Duke Robillard on guitar, and their 2023 album "One Hundred Years" featured the legendary Eddie Kirkland. The true interpretative strength of the Wentus Blues Band throughout their career has been their live performances, playing on stage in front their audience, delivering the best blues without borders. "Live" captures one of these performances, with the eight tracks on the album showcasing the band at their best, with all five musicians fully committed, displaying remarkable experience and effectiveness. This is classic blues with a bit of rock 'n' roll.
