Ghalia Volt (Ghalia Vauthier) was born in Brussels, Belgium, where she started playing on street corners. In 2013, she traveled to the United States, where she continued performing on the streets of Chicago, St. Louis, Memphis, and Nashville, until she arrived in New Orleans. There, along with Johnny Mastro & Mama's Boys, she recorded her first commercial album via RUF Records, "Let The Demons Out" (2017). With the help of Luther and Cody Dickinson, she delved into hill country blues and released the extraordinary "Mississippi Blend" (2019). During the pandemic, she performed solo and released the album "One Woman Band", and later joined the RUF Records Blues Caravan tour in 2022. Her latest powerful work, "Shout Sister Shout", was released in 2023. Ghalia Volt is undoubtedly the most raw and visceral woman to emerge in recent years from the European blues scene.
