At twenty-three years old, Marcus Trummer, based in Calgary, has released a magnificent debut album. "From The Start" not only contains ten songs filled with musical wisdom, but it also reflects a young musician willing to dive into the depths of soul music and capture the finest essences of Black music from the 60s and 70s. Guitarist, singer, and songwriter, Marcus Trummer released a four-song EP in 2020, signaling the emergence of an artist to watch : a groundbreaking composer and a precise, elegant guitarist. He began performing live, quickly drawing attention from fans and the media for his interaction between modernity and tradition. His performances blurred the lines between classic rock and soul, mixing their intentions, and soon he began receiving recognition in his home country. From the very beginning of the album, Trummer’s ability to write songs is apparent, along with the subtlety of the guitars and the priority given to the other instruments, which help shape each song.
