Amsterdam is a city in constant cultural upheaval. Musically, since the sixties it has been at the forefront of any artistic movement related to pop, jazz, blues or contemporary music. Brothers Cato and Joost van Dijck formed My Baby in 2012, a band that has developed its career in the European pop scene (they have played several times at the Glastonbury Festival), but they have never given up their deep influence in roots  music and their four previous albums contain an intelligent fusion in which soul music, funk and blues have been basic in their creativity. Their electric and forceful style allows them to use basic instruments - guitar-bass-drums - with others such as the fiddle, banjo or mandolin, giving their sound great plasticity and modern coherence. My baby have toured throughout Europe, South Africa and New Zealand (Daniel de Vries, the guitarist and third member of the band, is from that country). This fifth album "Acoustic.Blues.Club" is their desire to return to their primary roots, recorded live in a calm and close format, the band definitely surrenders to the blues and plays each song with a complicity and sobriety latent in each chord, they are belligerent with routine and definitely discover their great breadth of directions as artists. My baby are a wake-up call for some predictable and clueless. Listen to the album and enjoy them.
