WHO IS PRINCE TO U ?

Prince Roger Nelson (1958-2016) was a genius ahead of his time, lascivious and provocative, visionary and restless, a music revolutionary. He was only preceded by James Brown first and George Clinton shortly after in laying the foundations of funk music, the most visceral genre that black music has generated. His creative incontinence made him write and record more than a thousand songs of which he only published a few hundred, forceful rhythms and regenerative melodies, an eclectic and subversive musical world that transformed funk music as we knew it until then since the late seventies. The author of "Purple Rain", the best ballad of all time according to some, was at the forefront among the musicians of his generation, between 1980 and 1990 he released ten essential albums to understand where music developed in that decade, Prince was the axis of rotation of black music that exploded in Hi-Hop and Dance Music, a hyperactive multi-instrumentalist who evolved pop sounds towards an insubordination of creativity that allowed him to resist clichés and generate true visionary musical works. More than fifty published albums and constant tours around the world flooded the cult of fans to his figure, he never considered himself an idol, and his unexpected and too early death left his legacy without a successor, it is possible to think that it will be difficult for another genius to emerge like the Minneapolis.
