PAUL LAMB KING SNAKES 2.jpg

They call him the undisputed master of blues harmonica. Well, they are words, but listen to him play and you will understand why. Born in Blyth (UK) in 1955, Paul Lamb was inducted into the British Blues Awards Hall of Fame after a career that only genius can claim. With Sonny Terry as a mentor and maximum influence, Lamb toured all the clubs in the UK during the seventies as an acoustic blues musician before forming a first band called Blues Burglars in the early eighties that soon becomed The King Snakes, the electric band with which he became known and has accompanied him throughout his career to date, With fifteen albums released and tours around the world, Lamb is not only proclaimed as the European leader of the blues harmonica but also recognized in the USA as one of the great instrumentalists of the genre. As a duo he has recorded and performed together with guitarists Johnny Dickinson ("Playin' The Blues" - 2009) and basically with Chad Strentz with whom they recorded a first album ("Goin' Down This Road" - 2013) and now they have just released a second effort, this one recorded live, entitled "Blues In The Night (Live at Temperance)". Superb display of the ability of both musicians to recover the most sober and complacent country blues, where the continuous references to Sonny Terry and Brownie McGuee make listening to an unquestionable journey to the roots of the most genuine Piedmont Blues.

Born in London in 1964, Chad Strentz is a son of rock'n'roll and began his own entry into the music scene with the rockabilly band Cat Talk in the early eighties and released two singles. He achieved some renown with his later band called Shout Sister Shout with whom they performed throughout Europe during that decade, until he joined Paul Lamb's King Snakes in 1991. A fundamental member of the band, Chad recorded five albums with them until he left in 1999 for other projects. Until his return to the band in 2003, he joined the renowned The Big Town Playboys recording with them the album "Roll The Dice" and with guitarist Peter Farrugia's band Breakout Blues they toured Europe and recorded the excellent album "Drunk and Homeless" in 2002. Chad currently combines his work with the King Snakes with his solo career as well as with his band Chad-illacs in which Farrugia also appears as a guitarist. In his two stints as a member of the King Snakes, Chad Strentz has played guitar and sang on eleven of the fifteen albums released by the band.
