Rock'n'roll, Blues and Honky Tonk piano. And the fastest fingers in the neighborhood. Born in Biel-Bienne, Switzerland, in 1969, between 1984 and 1990 Nico Briel was playing with the rockabilly band called Jive Boys with whom he released an album and several singles, some of them after a new group reunion in 2017. Since 1993 he has been performing solo, with a backing band and sometimes backed only by a drummer, having played almost all over the world bringing with him the most visceral and energetic Boogie Woogie that has rarely been heard from a European musician. Nico Briel has unusual speed in his fingers, his hands are torpedoes on the piano keys, an unpredictable rhythmic waste. In his thirty-five years on the road, he has released almost twenty albums and has become a European boogie woogie reference along with legends such as Axel Zwingenberger, Frank Muschalle, LLuis Coloma and Ben Waters. For honky tonk piano lovers, Nico Briel is a sure bet.
