Roots music from Tasmania. Here is Mr. Mangus. Songwriter, guitarist and singer with an indecipherable soul. He tells his stories from love and forcefulness, his music evokes the time when nothing was in the past, jazz from the Dixie combos, blues from the streets of New Orleans, bluegrass and country music with minimal orchestrations, banjo and fiddle, rock & roll horns from the old days. There is no nostalgia here, a work inspired by fusing melodies and harmonies with the elegance of a gentleman, songs sung by a voice committed to rigor and transcendence, rough and rude, sincere and emulsifying. Mangus is well known on the island, a regular at festivals, clubs and bars, active since 2016, he has previously released three albums - two recorded live - and together with his mate Oliver Plapp on bass he premiered in 2012 as Mangus Duo, in those he have been advancing in each of them in translating sound schemes and true stories to be absorbed as musical heritage from tradition and the avant-garde at the same time. Mangus evolves chords and notes up to a limit desired by clairvoyants.
