Francisco "Kiko" Pereira is a jazz man. Portuguese born in Newark (NJ), has revolutionized the Jazz scene in Portugal leading several avant-garde formations and being recognized as one of the contemporary figures of the genre in his country. He's not a bluesman, but he has the blues. He's not a soulman, but he has the soul. He's a singer like few others, his voice is his great treasure, modulated, with many colors and hues hidden only within the reach of musicians who recognize themselves in any chord that black music is capable of spitting out. Composer and music teacher, Kiko Pereira has led several projects in Portugal with whom he has recorded respective albums, by his own name (Raw / 2003), The Jazz Refugees (L 'USA / 2012) and Kite (Amsa / 2018), and finally recovering his primitive background and under the name of The Blues Refugees he has released "Threadbare", a modern blues album where classicism and contemporaneity merge in an exhilarating way. The vocal strength of this man is irresistible, a true pleasure to listen to him without conditions.
