Neal Family, a Louisiana blues saga headed by harmonica legend Raful Neal followed by six of his ten sons including daughter Jackie. Of all of them Kenny Neal, born in New Orleans in 1957, has been the one who has had a prominent and especially outstanding musical career. Without a doubt, Kenny has established himself as the second generation bluesman who has led as a guitarist and songwriter the tradition that was sustained by musicians such as Slim Harpo, Guitar Slim, Professor Longhair, Lightnin' Slim, Taby Thomas, Snooks Eaglin, Lazy Lester or that of his own father Raful. Several years younger than him, Tab Benoit o Chris Thomas King have followed his lead. His first album "Bio On The Bayou" released by Bob Greenlee's King Snake Records in 1987 marked the birth of a true artist with a groundbreaking and modern album, so much so that the following year Alligator Records took him for its catalog and reissued it with the title of "Big News From Baton Rouge". The album was another masterpiece for the expansion of the new blood for the blues in the eighties, staying on the Chicago label for four more albums. Since then, Kenny has recorded thirteen more studio albums, released by labels such as Telarc, Blind Pig, Cleopatra or RUF Records. Kenny Neal is already a Louisiana blues legend and his work ranks right up there with the musicians who inspired him.
