00:00 / 07:30THE EIGHTIES: A PRODIGIOUS DECADE
An approach about a generation of blues musicians who released their first album between 1980 and 1990.
Joe Louis Walker is back with ""Weight Of The World", an album at the height of the artist, after almost thirty released albums it's at least one of his best works. Throughout his extensive career he has made us enjoy true gems of modern blues, his explosion in the mid-eighties with the superb "Cold Is The Night" was one more link in the starting point, which had started the Robert Cray Band in 1980 with "Who's Been Talkin'", from a decade, the eighties, that turned out to be a true outbreak of young talents who gave blues music new horizons and new blood. Joe Louis Walker was one of the most heterodox bluesmen in his approaches and a true innovator in terms of the style and construction of the blues sound in those years. The bay area bluesmen have known how to choose collaborations for his albums that allowed him to anchor in musical genres that influenced him in his beginnings, from Jazz, Gospel, Soul, Funk and even Rock'n'roll, that have made their albums authentic confluences of roots music. This last album exemplifies it.
