Sad stories don't weigh enough. Adventures planning on the edge of the dark hole of self-destruction. A gleaming light near the end of the tunnel allows to feed the hope of a different world, and the man clings to the call of his soul. Blues music has always narrated the life of the songsters, the best and worst of the time they have lived, always from the innermost part of the human being. Albert Castiglia is a dipositary of this background. His music is allergic to opportunism and each of his notes comes from experience and maturation, his songwriting alters the blues-rock canons and his technique with the guitar expresses both energy and beauty. Castiglia is one of the artists of his generation, next to others such as Mike Zito, Damon Fowler, Eric Gales, Jason Ricci or Carolyn Wonderland, who leads a space still claimed by the blues-rock aficionados in which sometimes the excess of low quality product overshadows a style that has always been a reference in the expansion of blues music to new ears and places around the world. Albert Castiglia's latest album "Masterpiece" (2019) exhibits 11 songs that together bring the final result very close to the title that brings them together and their author as one of the best contemporary blues-rock songwriters.
