North Mississippi Allstars - Up And Rolling

In blues music, few times a musical family saga has had so much promiscuity and has been so fundamental for the diffusion, expansion and preservation of a genre in general and a style in particular, in this case the Hill Country Blues. R.L. Burnside, the greatest exponent of it, is pure legend. His dynasty - he had thirteen children - has followed in his footsteps, and two of them Duwayne and Garry together with his grandson Cedric, are currently contemporary references to the sound of country blues located in the north of the state of Mississippi bordering Teneessee. Garry Burnside is the youngest, guitarist, bassist, drummer and singer, he's a faithful continuator of the legacy. Since 1992, he has participated in more than twenty albums, joining, among others, other legends such as Jr. Krimbourg or Jasie Mae Hemphill, bands such as North Mississippi All Stars or in projects such as Burnside Exploration, together with Cedrid, or recording with his own brother Duwayne with whom released the album "Under Pressure" in 2005. "Hill Country Magic" is his fourth album by his own, an acoustic work backed by percussionist Mike King, and shows us all the power and creativity of this bluesmen, updating an almost forgotten style claiming that with naturalness, creativity and a lot of ideas it can become one of the most innovative albums that blues music can be proud of today.
