From Amesbury MA. guitarist, singer and songwriter Frankie Boy Maneiro responds to the prototype of an all-round musician. He leads the band Blues Express, with whom he has participated a couple of times at the IBC, reaching the semifinals in the 2023 edition. They have been the backing band for Luther "GuitarJr." Johnson and have shared stages with musicians such as Joe Louis Walker, Ronnie Earl, Duke Robillard and Albert Castiglia among many others. Frankie is an excellent guitarist, his strings refer to the Chicago south side classic blues and he arranges the riffs in a rhythmic palate that evokes black funk sliding through modern grooves and a symmetrical balance between technique and interpretive sensitivity. Backed by two competent musicians who form an impeccable rhythm section, Frankie Boy selects each chord to place it in the right place in each song, disregarding personal brilliance to achieve a homogeneous and solid interpretation, achieving a complicity in which the three musicians are indispensable. "Young Man's Blues" is their debut album, a 14-track collection of clean and precise guitars, own compositions and covers, without complications or rhetoric that allows the listener to understand without hesitation what the intention and message of these guys is. This is playing blues out of necessity and doing it with good forms.
