Born January 20, 1968, Xavier Amin Dphrepaulezz aka Fantastic Negrito, is the perfect gear to find the exact point of fusion that has made black music re-explode in the twenty-first century. The music of Sly Stone and Prince provide a faithful fit with the rock'n'roll of Little Richard and the soul of Otis Redding, the blues of Howln' Wolf and the brilliance of Johnny Guitar Watson. All this and much more has made Fantastic Negrito the most heterodox and eclectic, surprising and subversive musician of the last two decades. His personal story is that of the man who has walked the wildest and most dangerous side of the road to finally survive and have the music on his side to get it. He's a true 21st century bluesman. Under the name Xavier, in 1996 he released an introspective and ignored first album entitled "X-Factor" with the only support of his guitar, offering a collection of absolutely wonderful and stripped down songs. After the album, a car accident separated him from music for several years until 2014, when he released the EP "Fantastic Negrito" and began to work on what would be his comeback album. "The Last Date Of Oakland" was an unmitigated achievement that definitely launched his career. In his current moment of creative plenitude, FN has recorded his fifth album entitled "White Jesus Black Problems" which has been accompanied by a film to illustrate the music, not the other way around, a clear challenge to racism, capitalism and an ode to love and brotherhood. A sensory experience that is not exempt from a clear transformative ideology where music stands as the protagonist of the author's own ambition to rebel against everything that is worth getting out of bed for every day. Musicians and albums like this are what give meaning to an artist's reason for living.
