Are both Joe Bonamassa and Eric Gales the best guitarists today? It's a difficult question to answer. Probably yes, but it's not what would define his talent either. Better to talk about them as two musicians who make the guitar the epicenter of all their artistic aspirations, who link their tremendous ability to use a musical instrument as the axis of transmission of their creative engineering. Eric Gales, born in Memphis in 1974, premiered at the beginning of the nineties and his evolution has been marked by personal ups and downs but always, through his twenty released albums, in a constant progression towards new interpretive formulas and in constant growth as an artist. Since Jimi Hendrix who has been closer to his genius. Joe Bonamassa, born in New Hartford (NY) in 1977, has developed an unpredictable and superlative guitar technique. He also began his professional steps in the early nineties and his career has been enhanced as a producer, twenty solo albums endorse him as well as dozens of collaborations and works for other musicians. Clear parallels between both artists which makes this album one more step towards the enthronement of two musicians who are not satisfied with making a good album but have made the best contemporary blues rock album and, probably, it will be difficult to beat. Two genius, yes.
