The oldest Dutch blues band still active. In 1969 Henk Vegt, Bert Bulk and Wendel Hillebrands formed the band Electric Blues in the town of Noordwijk (The Netherlands) to play songs by John Mayall, Ten Years After and Savoy Brown. Hank and Bert still continue with the adventure today. For more than five decades the band has been nourished by some other musicians, they have played blues in the most unlikely places and in others with better reputations, but always with the necessary ambition for the audience to enjoy their music. Electric Blues have not been a famous band, nor are they recognized musicians outside their country, only in Germany have they performed with a certain periodicity, but they have enjoyed great prestige among a large group of fans who have adored them throughout their intermittent musical career. This has been the history of blues music, unknown musicians playing in hidden places to effervescent audiences. Five albums and two DVDs in five decades is not a lot of production, but if you listen to their work you will confirm that it's enough. A cult band for good times.
