Born in 1938, in the delta where the blues was born, the pastor Elder Jack Ward took God, his word and Gospel music inside him since he was a child for his interaction with the world. Owner of the legacy and tradition of the old songs sung in churches, he had his premiere in the music industry when Stax Records noticed him and produced in 1964 his first single "I Don't Need No Doctor" under the band called Christan Harmonizers (with Isaac Hayes on piano). After replacing for a year O.V. Wright in The Sunset Travelers, formed The Gospel Four in 1968 releasing a couple of singles. After settling in Memphis, his retirement from professional music lasted for almost fifty years until Bruce Watson, who had been manager of Fat Possum Records, brought him back for his new project Bible & Tire Recording and recorded Ward's first album in 2021, "Already Made". Three years later Watson has continued with the release of this second album "The Storm" continuing with the unfinished work on the first installment, it's Gospel music sung by the octogenarian Ward with all the force and delivery essential to sing from the pulpit of the church, backed by the company's luxury band, led by guitarist Will Sexton. It would be sacrilege to forget these songs.
