Formed in Indiana in 2012, they have recorded twenty-two singles and four albums, one of them live, and have led the revitalization that has polarized soul music in recent decades. All of this starring Durand Jones, the most seductive and emblematic voice that has emerged from black music in recent years, along with a band with a dimension of extensive performance. They are pure soul music, the old and the new, the classic and the modern, definitely contemporary.

"Being a singer was never part of the plan"

Three years later, their second studio album fueled their presence among the artists who stood out in the bustling panorama of neo-soul, a term coined in the mid-nineties, which was consolidated as a style following in the footsteps of the iconic figure of Chares Bradley, singers like Eli "Paperboy" Red, Erikah Badou or Alicia Keys and  UK singers Joss Stone or the phenomenon Amy Winehouse. Jones is among the select group of contemporary soul artists including Macy Gray, Gerald McLedon, Sharon Jones alongside the pop beats of Beyoncé or Adele, all of them reinvigorating the funkiest soul of the sixties and seventies.

Born in a small town in Louisiana, Durand Jones learned to play sax in his teens motivated by the old 45's from legends like Otis Clay, Lou Rawls, Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway or Barry White. His instrument was the sax and he never thought about to be a singer. He left his hometown and moved to Indiana, where the seed of The Indicators was emerged after meet guitarist Blake Rhein and drummer Aaron Frazer, both of whom had identical musical affinities to Durand. The group started in 2012 and began the shooting phase. The trust placed in the band by Colemine Records encouraged them to record a couple of singles and after the good feelings, the first album was released in 2016.

The Indicators released the album "Private Space" in 2021 where they were involved in the search for new ways to awaken a more eclectic and vigorous sound in soul music using modern studio techniques that increased the generosity of the musicians. Durand Jones updates his creativity on "Wait Til I Get Over", his first solo album in which his voice commits to the loyalty of the soul singer with his roots, bues, gospel, R&B and Hip-Hop to sing a few personal and deep songs, with a personality only available to great artists.
