Jump blues, Texas blues, Chicago blues, jazz, swing, R&B, R'n'R, rockabilly, Duke Robillard's albums concentrate any musical style linked to black music of the twentieth century. Roomful of Blues, the band he formed in 1967 with Al Copley and The Fabulous Thunderbirds, replacing Jimmie Vaughan in 1990, are two of the seminal bands that emerged on the US scene in the 1970s and in both you'd find Duke playing the guitar.

The man from Rhode Island has been recording music for fifty years, has covered all possible styles which has allowed him to collaborate with countless artists and, without a doubt, have behind him one of the extensive, richest and most eclectic musical careers among contemporary blues musicians.Michael John "Duke" Robillard, born in 1948 in the state of Rhode Island, has had a career as an extensive and decisive blues musician not only as a guitarist, singer and songwriter,
but also as a producer, bandleader, educator and music session in multiple recordings. His particular style with the guitar, inherited from T-Bone Walker, has created an indisputable influence for other later guitarists who have adopted his particular style full of finesse, clarity and ability to improvise notes with elegance and delicacy. MC Records is back with a marvelous production, Duke Robillard at the top, an essential album from their discography. I'ts Duke !!!
