The Piedmont Bluz Acoustic Duo are the Brooklyn-New York marriage, formed by Valerie Turner and Ben Turner, two musicians dedicated to the preservation of the music from the Piedmont area in the Mississippi state. Valerie has an enviable technique with the fingerpicking, undoubtedly the best female guitarist of this style playing, inspired by precursors like Elisabeth Cotten, and her voice sounds perfectly molded, purple, seductive and sincere. Ben Turner rounds off his wife's work with percussion, washboard and harmonica. Mississippi John Hurt popularized one of the best ballads in Piedmont style, "Make me a palette on your floor" and in "Ambassadors of Country Blues" you can hear a wonderful interpretation of this original team.
